ABOUT

Hi! I'm Darren, an aspiring software engineer! I'm a first-generation student at Emory University pursuing a degree in Computer Science with experience in NLP and Generative Code Applications. This past summer I worked at Google to help improve the foundational code models behind Gemini and CodeGemma and developed an agent.

Code Semantic Agent
image.png

Lead development of the Code Semantic Agent project at Google, a graph-based agentic framework that enables downstream code agents to efficiently navigate, interact, and understand large complex codebases with Gemini.

CodeSEA leverages Code Syntax Trees and stack-graphs algorithms to create a mapping of programmatic entities ad their relationships. CodeSEA also  curates new and diverse SFT datasets specifically tailored for long-context coding tasks. These datasets will serve as a crucial resource for 1) bootstrapping the CSEA's agentic behavior to improve Gemini's code semantic understanding and 2) improve the performance of existing Google AI code products like Colab, Project IDX, and Android Studio.

This project was acheived in close collaboration with senior researchers, engineers, and product managers from Google AI Development Assistance (AIDA), Labs, Gemini, DeepMind (GDM), and UX.
